IP Addresses and Cookie Data
MOD-PAC uses IP Addresses and Cookies in limited ways, as follows:
IP Addresses:
An IP address is literally your computer’s address and is a unique identifier, allowing online information to be sent to the right place. We use IP addresses to better understand the customer database. We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer the Websites. Your IP address is also used to gather broad demographic information such as geographic distribution of our members. We do not intentionally link your IP address to your Personal Data.
Cookies:
Contrary to popular belief, cookies do not extract private or personal information from your computer’s memory. The job of a cookie is to record only information you volunteer to us upon registering or visiting the site. Cookies are tiny files placed onto the hard drive of your computer the first time you visit the Websites that enable our server to recognize or “remember” who you are next time you come back. MOD-PAC cookies are not tied to Personal Data. Currently, MOD-PAC intends to make only limited use of cookies for the purpose of delivering content and ads specific to your interests. For instance, cookies may be used to retain your personal preferences, hold session information for a “shopping cart” or save your password so it doesn’t have to be re-entered each time you log in.
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer tied to information about the user. We use persistent cookies. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the user’s hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies can be removed by following Internet browser help file directions. Specifically, cookies are used by the Websites and the ShopModPac order section in order to uniquely identify users, associate user files with orders, and to enable the shopping cart.
You always have a choice with respect to cookies. By modifying your browser preferences, you can accept all cookies, be notified when a cookie is set or reject all cookies. However, cookies allow you to take full advantage of our Services, so it is beneficial to leave them turned on. If you choose to reject all cookies, you may be unable to use certain Services. Please consult your browser instructions for information on how to modify your choices about cookies.

However, some third-party service providers have their own privacy policies with respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions. For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies to learn about the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.
In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. If you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, your Personal Data may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

MOD-PAC is not responsible for your use of these third-party websites, plug-ins, or applications. MOD-PAC makes no warranty, express or implied, or any guarantee regarding any third-party websites, plug-ins, applications, or their respective privacy statements, or any products, activities, services or information offered, provided, or collected by third-party websites, plug-ins, or applications. When you leave the Websites, we encourage you to review the privacy policies of such third parties by visiting the links included within those separate websites, since their policies may differ from this Policy, and they may use information in ways other than those described in this Policy.
Security/Privacy Information
The security and privacy of your online purchase is of the utmost importance to us. When users submit Personal Data to us via our Websites, their information is protected both online and offline.
We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. We use industry standard efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of your Personal Data, such as firewalls and Secure Socket Layers (SSL). SSL encryption technology is designed to prevent the unauthorized viewing and downloading of your order information. By default, all orders placed on our site are done on a secure server that encrypts all financial information through SSL. Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, access to that data is limited to authorized MOD-PAC staff members and is further restricted by password protection mechanisms.
If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is stored by MOD-PAC’s credit card gateway provider using encryption technology. MOD-PAC does not store cardholder data in any of its systems. We will not store your credit card information in our database unless you explicitly instruct us to do so.
We also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to Personal Data.
Your Personal Data is stored on a secure server. The server is maintained in a high-security environment.
Although we use industry standard practices to protect your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your Personal Data or private communications will always remain private. Protecting your account login credentials (i.e., your username and password) from unauthorized access is your responsibility. Do not share your login credentials with any third party. We recommend that you log out after accessing your account, change your password on a periodic basis, and limit access to your computer or device and its browser. While we use commercially reasonable security measures designed to prevent unauthorized persons from accessing our files or tampering with the Websites, we cannot guarantee that these efforts will always be successful. We do not represent, warrant, or guarantee that our safeguards will protect the total privacy of your Personal Data disclosed on the Websites. Your Personal Data may be accessed and viewed by other Internet users without your knowledge or permission while in transit to or from us. We cannot and do not ensure, represent, warrant, or guarantee the security of any information you transmit, or we collect, through the Websites.
Notification of Changes
If we decide to change this Policy, we will post those changes to this Policy, the Websites, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
If, however, we are going to use your Personal Data in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users via email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner.
If customers have opted out of all communication with the site, or deleted/deactivated their account, then they will not be contacted, nor will their personal information be used in this new manner. In addition, if we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect user information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on our Website notifying users of the change.
Choice/Opt Out
Our users are given the opportunity to “opt-out” of having their information used for purposes directly related to our site at the point where we ask for information. For example, our order form/account set up has an “opt-out” mechanism so users who buy products from us, but don’t want any marketing material, can keep their email address off our list.
Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying to unsubscribe in the subject line in the email or email us at sales@modpac.com

We do not knowingly collect personal information from those under the age of 18, nor do we knowingly sell or otherwise disclose the personal information of those under the age of 18.
