Sheeting

MOD-PAC does not outsource sheeting. Instead, we choose to sheet in-house because we believe this option is better for our clients in the long run. Rather than having to wait for sheeting to be bought and shipped in from other manufacturers, our internal processes enable us to sheet paperboard right on the production line. That means we can provide our customers with faster overall turnaround times.

Pre-Press/Graphics

Our graphic technicians deliver precise, accurate results by working with the most current and professional software packages available. Every piece of artwork we process flows through a careful review system to ensure the correct copy. We also maintain a large format proofing system that is carefully calibrated to our printing presses to ensure color consistency is maintained from start to finish.

Direct-to-Plate

Plate coordinators interact directly with our graphics and pressroom personnel to ensure the fastest response times for your projects. Our direct-to-plate system produces repeatable, precise printing plates from supplied art files. ISO-certified copy checks are performed at multiple stages to verify each printed carton is consistent with the proof. A digital library of all plating files is maintained for every printed order in the event that new plates are needed on short notice.

Print Production

The MOD-PAC facility is equipped with an array of the most advanced Heidelberg presses, all with a standard format. This allows us to run jobs on multiple presses or shift to available presses as your schedule dictates. Our operators are trained with the latest generation of color management spectrophotometers and densitometers and work diligently to ensure your carton is of the highest quality and consistency.

Structural Design

Our structural design team is the starting point for virtually all phases of the production process. Carton structures can be duplicated from existing customer packaging or developed as a custom fit to your product. Your carton is designed and produced through a carefully regulated state-of-the-art CAD system. This quality-approved file is then used for every stage of the production process to ensure absolute consistency from beginning to end.

Die Making

At MOD-PAC, there’s no waiting for someone else to prepare your die. Our facility houses an internal structural team. That means we complete our own tooling and die making to help deliver faster lead times for our customers. Die boards are burned on a laser cutter from the same quality-approved CAD file generated by our structural team. Cutting rules, rubber cushioning, counter plates, and other essential materials are custom-cut and assembled for each and every job. Since we make our own tooling, die repairs never have to be shipped out. In fact, we always have a member of our team on all three shifts that can perform die repairs if needed.

Die-Cutting

All die-cutting materials and components are produced in-house with state-of-the-art computerized machines with internal stripping capabilities. These machines all run on a standard-size format, allowing the flexibility to move work quickly through the department.

​Finishing

MOD-PAC offers a wide variety of folding and gluing equipment to accommodate all folding carton projects, from the least complicated design to the most complex. Die-cut packaging is identified and organized with a barcode system to prevent improper carton mixing. In-line readers continually scan all jobs and automatically shut down production if a mixed copy is detected. Each run is carefully monitored and inspected by our quality control team for proper glue adhesion, regardless of job specifications or requirements.

Additional Finishing Services

Fugitive glue and cello window application are some of the many finishing services MOD-PAC offers. We carry an array of window film types and calipers to meet your specifications. Our finishing department can also provide in-line security tagging. Once your orders are completed, they are marked with identification labels directly at the gluing line and promptly moved to our shipping department to be sent to you.

Imprinting and Hot Stamping

Your stock box does not have to be plain. By hot stamping your custom logo and graphics, MOD-PAC will help your brand come to life with a distinctively branded box.  Whether you are creating party favors for a wedding or you are a small business in need of premium retail packaging, MOD-PAC allows you the flexibility to customize small quantities.
